[View the story "Freakin Out about the Fiscal Cliff" on Storify ]Freakin Out about the Fiscal Cliff There is a lot of buzz about the fiscal cliff; but what is it exactly? Simply, it's the inability or unwillingness of Governmental branches --Legislative and Executive-- to agree on issues of budget and finance. The main question is: Why should We Care? Storified by Andre V Milteer M.A. · Fri, Dec 14 2012 13:09:01
Back in 2008, I decided to become rich (that's a whole 'nother story within itself). After reading books, listening to tapes, and watching financial news shows, my path lead me to attend a seminar in Dallas, TX. Based upon the book,
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind , I signed up and attended the 2 1/2 day event. Sponsored by Peak Potentials Training, Inc.,
The Millionaire Mind Intensive promoted a change within me --helping me to self-actualize how my own thinking was holding me back from becoming a member of the Upper 2% Club.

The Upper 2% President Obama believes that the nation's top 2% income earners (aka, The Wealthy) should carry a higher personal tax burden than the 98 percenters. The Republican legislators feel otherwise. Their argument: "Taxing the Rich will stunt job growth."
The flip side is how would You or I feel IF we became a card-carrying member of the Top 2%? Would we want to pay more...would we keep our cards closer to the chest and lockup the chicken coop? Again, going back to my seminar training and
DNA Money Blueprint conversion , I'm convinced that not only will the FISCAL CLIFF remain a mysterious non-consequence for most Americans, but also that
most of us will never achieve financial freedom!
From an introspective point-of-view, I am saddened that I am not in the Top 2% income-earning. I WISH I had the problem that many of the 2% are wrestling with. "Will I have to pay more taxes in year 2013 [and beyond]?" If yes, then The Rich simply accept the fact and immediately embark upon a path to increase their income. The Rich
love to pay taxes ! Why? because that means that they are making money. The
Poor want to avoid taxes at all costs.
A shell game of sorts; the President does understand the politics of the fiscal cliff inaction. Unemployment check payments could be suspended for those receiving extended benefits. Federal agencies may be forced to make human resource cuts. Private industry employers may delay capital expenditures.
The lesson to learn is that the Government takes a macro approach to problem solving. You and I, need to take charge of our personal finances and budgeting. How? We need to support, encourage, and be active in our Government...yet we need to depend upon our families, friends, local communities, our God or Higher Power, and ourselves.
